Tilburg University and the Academic Business Club are proud to present the first installment of a new event series, called ‘Talk to the CEO’. During these talks, students, staff, and alumni get the opportunity to speak with the leaders of the Netherlands’ most prominent organizations.
The kick-off will be on Monday, September 26, with Ahold Delhaize CEO Dick Boer, a grocer pur sang, who was taught the trade in his father’s grocery store. He subsequently held various positions in retail and started as Ahold’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the Czech Republic in 1998. After four years, he left Czechia to become Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Ahold Europe. He did quite well so, in 2007, he joined the Management Board and in 2011 he became Ahold’s CEO. In June last year, Ahold announced that it was going to merge with the Belgian Delhaize Group and that Boer would become the CEO of the merged company, Ahold Delhaize.
He will further introduce himself on Monday afternoon and briefly tell us of his journey from a local grocer to the worldwide one. During the interactive part, everyone will be able to ask questions of the brand-new CEO of Ahold Delhaize.
So have you always wanted to know how it feels to manage a company that employs 375,000 people? Ask Dick Boer during ‘Talk to the CEO’ on Monday, September 26, at 16:45 hrs. in room DZ 1.
